As your Personal Health Advocate I can serve many roles. I can be a support person when a new life comes into the world, or as a loved one is approaching the end of life. If you live out of town or work full time, I can step in to support your parents or loved one the way you would. If you are struggling with a new diagnosis, I can guide you through the process with clarity, calm, information, and empowerment.

I am well versed on the medical aspect of many stages of life and illness and can be your advocate.  I am optimistic, realistic, trustworthy, kind, patient, and caring. I am here to help you or your loved one navigate a challenging medical journey.

What is a Personal Health Advocate

A Personal Health Advocate is a partner in your healthcare journey. I am a trusted companion to support and guide you or a loved one through a range of medical challenges and situations, from the birth of a child to the end of a life. 


I work on your behalf so that you can better understand the landscape ahead and get the care and resources you need. As a Personal Health Advocate, I can help navigate the complex healthcare issues and information so that decisions and treatment plans are in your best interest, giving you peace of mind.

Services

For a parent or loved one:

Accompany to doctor appointments, record important information, ask pertinent questions, research new diagnoses, assist in coordinating a plan of care.

Research and provide assistance on finding and making a transition to an assisted living facility or nursing home.

Be with a loved one who is transitioning to hospice care or who is in the weeks and days leading up to the end of life.

For you:

Research a new diagnosis and assist in developing a plan of action, including which doctors to see or obtain second opinions from.

Go to doctor appointments with you to be a second set of ears, to take notes, ask questions, and advocate on your behalf.

Having a baby?  I provide in-hospital labor support to encourage a peaceful, beautiful birth experience.

Have any ideas?  I am flexible and willing to work with you to be your health partner and advocate.

FAQs

Do you take insurance?

No, I do not take insurance.

How much do your services cost?  

I charge $100 per hour for all services.

If my parent is in a wheelchair and has limited mobility can you still take them to appointments?

I would ask for the assistance of a caregiver for transfers and bathroom visits.

Are you currently licensed as an RN?

While I was a stay-at-home mom for 14 years, my RN and CNM certifications expired and I have not renewed them.
